The civic bodies face a real challenge to maintain clean and safe roads free from dust/sand. This fine sand accumulates near the middle and on both sides of the roads.
Urban local bodies (ULBs) employ sweepers, who manually sweep and deposit the sand near the center of the road. However, continuous vehicular movement dislodges the mound by pushing the sand back onto the road, making it difficult for motorists and commuters.
Recognizing the above problem, Jalandhar Smart City Limited has solved this problem by purchasing mechanized road sweeping machine under Smart City Mission.
