To commemorate the 75th year of India’s Independence, Smart Cities Mission had planned numerous events across 100 Smart Cities 2021 as part of the celebrations called Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) with the values of ‘health, safety and self-empowerment for all’.
In support of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Jalandhar Smart city organized various events from September 26, 2021 to 3 October, 2021.On 30th September 2021, Jalandhar smart city organized Cycle2Work event to nudge citizens to pick up the habit of walking and cycle for their daily commute.
All the office staff and interns at Jalandhar Smart City came to work on cycles. This event not only encouraged staff to opt for healthy commute options but also gave a message of creating sustainable and live able city by reducing pollution generated by motor vehicles.
